On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of E.T.A. Hoffmann's death in 2022, the Staatliche Institut für Musikforschung is adding thematic spotlights to the permanent exhibition in the Musical Instrument Museum. In addition to musical instruments mentioned by Hoffmann, the topicality of Hoffmann's ideas for the perception of electronic sounds will be addressed.
