The poet, draftsman, musician, theater director and lawyer E.T.A. Hoffmann was one of the most popular authors of his time. Today, however, his influence on music, science fiction, literature and art is hardly known. To mark the 200th anniversary of his death in 2022, the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Berlin State Library - Prussian Cultural Heritage) is now bringing the life and work of this universal artist into the present day with an extensive anniversary exhibition, making his work accessible to a young audience in particular.
